Mark Havard sworn in as MCMR member

BILOXI, Miss. – Mark H. Havard II took the oath of office Tuesday, July 19, and was sworn in as the newest member of the Mississippi Commission on Marine Resources.

Havard, who lives in Vancleave, was appointed to the Commission by Gov. Phil Bryant and confirmed by the Mississippi Senate. He will represent recreational fishermen on the MCMR.

Havard earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management at the University of Southern Mississippi in Long Beach, and he is the comptroller at Walt Massey Automotive, Inc.
He and his wife, Anna, have two sons, Hiram and Hudson.

Havard said he believes his financial background will be an asset to the Commission.

“My extensive financial background will prove to be valuable to the CMR,” Havard said. “Also, fishing and boating are very important parts of our lives, and I am looking forward to serving the people of Mississippi.”
