Mississippi Power Company has filed notice of a proposed project which requires review by the MS Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state’s approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act.

The applicant is requesting to replace and upgrade the existing Transmission facilities (6 structures and associated wiring) across the Wolf River and the unnamed bayou in Pass Christian, Harrison County, MS. The entire project occurs within existing utility right-of-way and is broken down as follows: 6315 linear feet of matting to facilitate construction over marsh vegetation, 145 linear feet of flex-floats to facilitate construction across the unnamed bayou, and 360 linear feet of wiring across/above the Wolf River at a height of approximately 60-ft, meeting the regulatory requirement of 20-ft above the nearest bridge (Menge Avenue). While construction is active, the adjacent unnamed bayou will be closed to Marine Traffic during
the week. An official Notice to Mariners will go out once construction begins. View the full application at the link(s) below.
