Application by Racetrac, Inc. to fill non-tidal wetlands for the creation of a travel center at the intersection of Hwy 63 and Saracennia Rd in Moss Point, Jackson Co., MS

Racetrac, Inc. has filed notice of a proposed project which requires review by the MS Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state’s approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act.

The applicant is proposing to fill 10.44 acres of non-tidal wetlands for the commercial expansion of an existing gas station into a travel center at the intersection of Highway 63 and Saracennia Road in Moss Point, Jackson County, Mississippi. A portion of the project has already been determined to be consistent with the Coastal Program as of January 13, 2025. The updated project diagrams showing the full proposed impacts described above are linked below. Also linked below are the application for the originally proposed project and the previously issued consistency determination dated January 13, 2025. 

Any person wishing to make comments or objections to the proposed activity must submit those comments in writing to Katie Nelson by mail at the Department of Marine Resources at 1141 Bayview Avenue, Biloxi, Mississippi 39530, by email at katie.nelson@dmr.ms.gov, or by using the form below before 1:00 p.m. on the day March 31, 2025.
