Application by Shell Offshore Inc., Initial Exploration Plan

Shell Offshore Inc. has filed notice of a proposed project which requires review by the MS Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state’s approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act.

The applicant is proposing an Initial Exploration Plan (EP/Plan) for Green Canyon (GC) 193, OCS-G 36902, Gulf of Mexico. This plan is requesting to drill and complete 6 subsea wells: A, A-Alt1, B, B-Alt1 and C, C-Alt1. The wells will be drilled, completed, and temporarily abandoned in accordance with 30 CFR 250.1721 until the well(s) are developed under a future DOCD. If the wells are unsuccessful, they will be permanently plugged and abandoned in accordance with the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) regulations.
