Commercial Spotted Seatrout Season to Close August 10

BILOXI, Miss. – The commercial fishing season for spotted seatrout will close in Mississippi territorial waters on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 12:01 a.m.

 

The opening and closing of the commercial spotted seatrout season is issued under the authority of Section 49-15-15 1 (a) (2009) of the Mississippi Code of 1972. 

 

It has been determined that the 50,000-pound commercial spotted seatrout (Cynoscion nebulosus) quota has been met.

 

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
