Governor’s Oyster Council to meet Tuesday, Feb. 10

BILOXI, Miss. – The Governor’s Oyster Restoration and Resiliency Council will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi.

The full council will meet first and hear a presentation by Jamie Miller, executive director of the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources. The group then will break up into its three committees, which are Environment, Economy and Aquaculture and Emerging Technologies.


The meeting will last about two hours. The museum is located at 115 East 1st St. in Biloxi.


The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
