Greater Amberjack season closes June 20

BILOXI, Miss. – The commercial fishing season for Greater Amberjack will close in Mississippi territorial waters at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, June 20.

 

The commercial season also will be closed in federal waters in the Gulf of Mexico.

 

According to the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council, 98 percent of the commercial quota has been harvested.

 

The commercial season is set to reopen at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2018.
