LEGAL NOTICE – Notice of Derelict Vessel Proceedings and Emergency Removal

NOTICE OF DERELICT VESSEL PROCEEDINGS & EMERGENCY REMOVAL TO GEORGE DON HARTSFILED, BILL SNYDER, KENNETH PEOPLES AND ALL UNKNOWN PERSONS CLAIMING ANY RIGHT, TITLE OR INTEREST IN THE FOLLOWING VESSEL:

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) has determined that the vessel described below constitutes a derelict vessel pursuant to Miss. Code Ann. §49-27-71. In addition, the vessel is obstructing a waterway and/or within a designated navigational channel and has been declared a hazard to navigation and subject to an emergency removal with the immediate relocation, removal disposal, or other disposition by the MDMR.

VESSEL DESCRIPTION:   1996, 40’ Genmar Yacht, fiberglass pleasure vessel

VESSEL LOCATION:         Jourdan River, Jourdan River Shores community, Hancock County, MS

VESSEL REGISTRATION:   MI 7347 BU

LAST KNOWN OWNER:   George Don Hartsfield

The MDMR reserves the right to initiate proceedings in the Chancery Court seeking all costs of removal, which may include the following as well as other expenses: the cost of destruction, damages in the amount of $500.00 per day, and court costs.
