Marine Patrol Issues Citation to Man for Commercial Fishing North of CSX Railroad Bridge

BILOXI, Miss.– The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources’ (MDMR) Marine Patrol issued a citation to a man today who was commercially fishing north of the CSX railroad bridge, which is prohibited under Mississippi law. MDMR Marine Patrol Officer Jeffery Payne cited the man, who he encountered commercial fishing north of the train bridge.

 

The man, who was in possession of 10 redfish, was fishing in Biloxi Bay just north of the train bridge. When Officer Payne requested to see his license, the man produced a commercial fishing license and said he planned to sell his catch. Officer Payne returned all fish back to the sea.
