MCMR certifies new state saltwater fishing records

BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Commission on Marine Resources (MCMR) certified two recreational saltwater conventional tackle records during its July 15 meeting.

 

Billy Bridgett of Ocean Springs set a state conventional tackle record for oyster toadfish (Opsanus tau) with a 2-pound, 4.2-ounce fish on June 6, 2014.

 

Ryan C. Brushaber of Pascagoula set a state conventional tackle record for speckled hind (Epinephelus drummondhayi) with a 1-pound, 9.3-ounce fish on June 7, 2014.
