BILOXI, Miss. – The Commission on Marine Resources (MCMR) certified one Mississippi recreational saltwater conventional tackle record and one Mississippi fly fishing tackle record during its October 16 meeting.
Joshua Lyons of Ocean Springs broke the state record for Southern Flounder with a 4-pound, 14-ounce fish on September 21, 2012.
Matt Glenn of Pascagoula broke the state record for Atlantic Croaker with a 5-pound, 1-ounce fish on September 28, 2012.
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
