BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources certified three state saltwater fishing records using conventional tackle for the month of April.
Matthew Mitchell of Gulfport set the record for Common Snook (Centropomus undercimalis) with a fish weighing 5 pounds, 6.4 ounces. Josh Lord of Ocean Springs set the record for Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus albacores) with a fish weighing 237 pounds, 12.8 ounces.
George Bamban, 11, of Biloxi set the youth record for African Pompano (Alectis ciliaris) with a fish weighing 35 pounds, 10.4 ounces.
