MDMR certifies state saltwater finfish records for July

BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources certified two state all tackle saltwater fishing records, both using a spear, for the month of July.

 

Joseph Rizzuto of Slidell, La., set the record for Gray Snapper (Lutjanus griseus) with a fish weighing 15 pounds, 14.4 ounces.

 

Sean Cook of D’Iberville set the record for Atlantic Creolefish (Paranthias furcifer) with a fish weighing 1 pound, 9.6 ounces.
