BILOXI, Miss. — The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources’ (MDMR) Marine Patrol responded to a boat collision, which occurred Saturday morning in Bayou Cumbest west of Bangs Island near the Port-O-Pines boat launch in Jackson County.

The call came in to MDMR Marine Patrol at 10:01 a.m. and Marine Patrol officers R.T. May and Scott Chatham were immediately dispatched to the scene.

According to witness statements, William Ladner of Moss Point was anchored west of Bangs Island fishing in his 15-foot Alumacraft, when a 15-foot Deltacraft driven by Carey Olsen of Grand Bay, Ala., collided with the stern of Ladner’s boat. Olsen was having motor problems and hit Ladner’s boat on the starboard side, ejecting Ladner out of the boat. There were no injuries.
