BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources will sell commercial licenses in Pascagoula and Pass Christian during May.
Licensing agents will be at the Jackson County Board of Supervisors Complex from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 5, 12 and 19. The complex is located at 2915 Canty St., Pascagoula.
Agents also will be at the Pass Christian Oyster Check Station in the Pass Christian Harbor from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 7, 14 and 21.
To purchase or renew a commercial license, you need a valid driver’s license or identification card; copy or picture of the driver’s license or identification card for all alternate captains and valid boat registration or documentation.
If the person purchasing the license is not the boat owner, you will need a copy or picture of the boat owner’s driver’s license.
To purchase or renew a charter boat license, the following items are needed: Boat registration or documentation; boat owner’s driver’s license; captain certificate from the Coast Guard; current drug screening card or proof of enrollment in an MDOT-approved drug screening program; proof of liability insurance for the boat. A captain certificate and drug screening card are needed for anyone listed as an alternate captain.
MDMR accepts cash, a check with a Mississippi address, out-of-state business checks or a cashier’s check or money order. Debit or credit cards and out-of-state personal checks are not accepted.
