Mississippi 2011-2012 Commercial Seafood Licenses Available Beginning April 1

BILOXI, Miss. — Mississippi commercial fishermen are reminded that all Mississippi commercial seafood licenses, including oyster, finfish, shrimp and crab, expire April 30 of each year. For the 2011-2012 season, Mississippi commercial licenses will be available for sale beginning Friday, April 1, at the Department of Marine Resources.

 

Current vessel registration or documentation papers and the vessel owner’s driver’s license must be shown to purchase a commercial license. Payment accepted for licenses is cash or local checks only—no credit or debit cards are accepted.

 

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
