Mississippi Commercial Greater Amberjack Season to Close

BILOXI, Miss. – Commercial fishing season for greater amberjack will close in Mississippi territorial waters on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at 12:01 a.m. and remain closed through Dec. 31, 2012. This coincides with the closing and opening of commercial greater amberjack season in federal waters.

 

The last day to commercially fish for greater amberjack is Tuesday, April 3, 2012, and all commercially caught greater amberjack must be landed no later than midnight. The season will reopen Jan. 1, 2013, at 12:01 a.m.

 

The closing of the commercial greater amberjack season is issued under the authority of Section 49-15-15 (1) of the Mississippi Code of 1972.
