NOAA announces reopening of the 2024 Federal Gulf of Mexico Red Snapper Recreational For-Hire Season

BILOXI, Miss. – The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has announced that Federal For-hire Red Snapper season will open for federally permitted vessels at 12:01 a.m. local time on Monday, November 18, 2024, and the season will close at 12:01 a.m. local time January 1, 2025.

 

These Federally permitted for-hire vessels will only be able to harvest Red Snapper nine nautical miles south of the islands and beyond. As a reminder, Mississippi state territorial waters remain closed to Red Snapper harvest during this reopening.
