BILOXI, Miss. – The Governor’s Oyster Council on Restoration and Resiliency will hold public meetings March 16-18 in each of the three coastal counties.
- March 16: Bay St. Louis Community Hall, 301 Blaize Ave., Bay St. Louis.
- March 17: MDMR Auditorium, Bolton Building, 1141 Bayview Ave., Biloxi.
- March 18: Gautier City Hall, 3330 U.S. 90, Gautier.
All meetings will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
There will be a presentation about the Oyster Council at the beginning of each meeting given by Jamie Miller, Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources. After that, the public will be able to make comments and suggestions.
The Council’s recommendations will be put in a report that will be given to Gov. Phil Bryant in early June.
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
