Proposal by NMFS to modify the regulations regarding pelagic and demersal (or bottom) indicator species in the Atlantic Highly Migratory Species pelagic and bottom longline fisheries

NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service has filed notice of a proposed project which requires review by the MS Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state’s approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act.

The applicant is proposing to modify regulations for highly migratory species in the Gulf of America by (A)

removing the indicator species list and (B) removing the 5% (five-percent) weight limit for
