NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service has filed notice of a proposed project which requires review by the MS Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state’s approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act.
NMFS is proposing to promulgate regulations to continue the descending device and venting tool requirements for all vessels harvesting reef fish established under the Direct Enhancement of Snapper Conservation and the Economy through Novel Devices Act (DESCEND Act).
