The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has requested approval of an alternative dredged material disposal site which requires review by the MS Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state’s approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act.
The applicant is proposing to. change the placement of dredge materials for the previously authorized Bayou Casotte Harbor maintenance dredging project in the Gulf of America. The applicant is proposing to place some dredged material from the tip of Horn Island Pass in the deep scour hole within the channel north of the cut.
