NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service has filed notice of a proposed regulation change which requires review by the MS Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state’s approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act.
The regulation change proposes to increase the recreational and commercial size limit for lane snapper and increase the stock annual catch limit for the fishery in an effort to slow harvest, reduce the risk of overfishing, and extend the fishing season in the Gulf of America.
