Recreational, commercial harvest of Lane Snapper to close Dec. 13

BILOXI, Miss. –

Officials with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources announced today that the recreational and commercial harvest of Lane Snapper (Lutjanus synagris) will close in Mississippi territorial waters at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019.

 

Recreational and commercial harvest for Lane Snapper will reopen at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2020.

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
