Shell Offshore, Inc. has filed notice of a proposed project which requires review by the MS Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state’s approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act.
The applicant is proposing a Supplemental Exploration Plan to drill and complete three (3) subsea wells at Dover, Mississippi Canyon (MC) Block 612, OCS-G 33166 (A, E and E-Alt). One of these wells was previously approved under Initial EP N-9937. Two of these wells are new. The previously approved well surface hole location was drilled but never completed, Shell is proposing to re-enter well A and sidetrack to a new reservoir target and complete for production. The two new wells proposed are E and E-Alt. This project will take place in the Gulf of Mexico on the Outer Continental Shelf.
