NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service has filed notice of a proposed rule change which requires review by the MS Department of Marine Resources to ensure compliance with the state’s approved Coastal Program under the Coastal Zone Management Act.
The applicant is proposing Final Amendment 56 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Reef Fish Resources of the Gulf of Mexico that would modify the Gulf gag status determination criteria, optimum yield, overfishing limit, acceptable biological catch, accountability measures, and the recreational fishing season.
