St. Joe Reef to reopen Saturday, Dec. 5

BILOXI, Miss. – Officials with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources announced Friday that the St. Joe Reef south of Bayou Caddy will reopen at legal sunrise Saturday, Dec. 5, for the harvest of oysters.

 

This is Area I B of conditionally approved waters.

 

Earlier this week, the reefs listed below were opened for oyster harvesting.

 

Area II “A” Conditionally Approved Waters – This area includes northern portions of the Pass Christian and Henderson Point reefs and Hornets Reef.

Area II “B” Conditionally Approved Waters – This area includes Waveland and St. Stanislaus reefs.

Area II “D” Conditionally Approved Waters – This area includes the public reefs in St. Louis Bay, between the U.S. 90 Bridge and the CSX Railroad Bridge
