Grand Bay NERR to hold nature photography workshop

BILOXI, Miss. – The Grand Bay NERR will host a nature photography workshop from 3-8 p.m. Friday, May 20.

 

The workshop is the Adventure Quencher for May, and the instructor is Robert Smith, coastal program coordinator for Wildlife Mississippi.

 

Participants will learn how settings, lenses and perspectives impact the images created. Those in the class should have a basic understanding of how their camera works, but the presentation will not be highly technical.

 

People who want to attend should bring a camera and a brown-bag dinner. Part of the workshop will be held outdoors, so participants should dress appropriately.

 

The workshop is free and is for adults and teens over age 15, but class size is limited to 24. Teenagers should be accompanied by an adult.

The NERR is managed through a state-federal partnership between the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
