OPERATES 24 HOURS-DAY, 7 DAYS-WEEK

Dispatch and Emergency serves as a communication link between Marine Patrol officers in the field and the general public, local, public safety agencies, and state and federal law enforcement agencies. Its primary role includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • observes the telecommunications network for emergency response
  • monitors changing weather conditions and marine violations
  • exchanges information with the National Crime Information Center (per requirement)
  • maintains constant radio contact with field personnel in order to maximize officer safety
  • coordinates with Marine Patrol management and field personnel in order to minimize the loss of life, personal injury, property damage and environmental impact on coastal and marine waters
