MDMR Marine Patrol Rescues Two Men from Capsized Boat

BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) Marine Patrol rescued two men from a recreational fishing boat that capsized about 1.5 miles south of Long Beach on Tuesday.

 

Marine Patrol responded to a distress call that came over the VHF radio about 4:30 p.m. on June 11, 2013,  that a recreational fishing boat had capsized

and two men were in the water about 1.5 miles south of Long Beach.

 

MDMR Marine Patrol Officer Scott Anderson responded to the call and arrived on the scene within 3 to 4 minutes. The two men, Jarrord Michael Ladner of Long Beach and Jaden Schmalzried of Gulfport, were picked up by Officer Anderson and taken to Long Beach Harbor where their friends were waiting for them.  No injuries were sustained.
