CMR certifies four state records

BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Commission on Marine Resources certified four state saltwater fishing records during its Sept. 16 meeting.

 

Timothy Striegel of Jackson broke the conventional tackle record for Speckled Hind with a 5-pound, 8.8-ounce fish. The previous record was 1 pound, 9.3 ounces set in June 2014.

 

David Floyd of Pascagoula established a conventional tackle record for Bluntnose Jack with a 10.2-ounce fish.

 

Jimmy Taylor of Biloxi established a conventional tackle record for Unicorn Filefish with a 1-pound, 2-ounce fish.

 

Doug Borries of Vancleave established a fly-fishing record for Atlantic Croaker with a 14.9-ounce fish.
