CMR certifies state record for Oyster Toadfish

BILOXI, Miss. – The state Commission on Marine Resources on Tuesday certified a new state record for the Oyster Toadfish (Opsanus tau).

 

Sherman Roberts of Biloxi caught the 3-pound, 2-ounce fish using conventional tackle while fishing south of Horn Island.

 

The previous record was 2 pounds, 4.48 ounces and was set in August 2016.
