CMR certifies three state fishing records

BILOXI, Miss. – The state Commission on Marine Resources on Tuesday certified three state fishing records.

 

Michael Garrett of Vancleave set the record for Tiger Shark (Galeocerdo cuvier) with a shark weighing 675 pounds using conventional tackle.

 

In the youth division, the following records were set using conventional tackle.

 

Margaret Schindler, 8, of Diamondhead set a record for Red Drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) with a fish weighing 26 pounds, 8 ounces.

 

Kyson Blocker, 10, of Edmond, Okla., set a record for Striped Burrfish (Chilomycterus schoepfii) with a fish weighing 1 pound, 5.62 ounces.
