CMR certifies two state fishing records

BILOXI, Miss. – The state Commission on Marine Resources on Tuesday certified two state fishing records.

 

Kevin Sikes of Cobbtown, Ga., set a new record for Gulf Flounder (Paralichthys albiguttawith a fish weighing 1 pound, 7.68 ounces using conventional tackle. The previous record was held by Christopher Barlow with a fish weighing 1 pound, 2.4 ounces caught March 9, 2018.

 

Junie Creel of Ocean Springs set the record for Lowfin Pomfret (Brama dussumieriwith a fish weighing 4.37 ounces using conventional tackle.
