Gov. Phil Bryant to participate in two MDMR events Monday

BILOXI, Miss. – Gov. Phil Bryant will participate in two events with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources on Monday, Feb. 2.
At 1 p.m., Gov. Bryant will sign an executive order creating The Governor’s Oyster Restoration and Resiliency Council. The council and its committees will meet over the next few months to find ways to grow this industry that is a vital part of the Coast. MDMR Executive Director Jamie Miller and members of the council also will be at the signing.


At 1:30 p.m., Gov. Bryant will participate in a Promotion Ceremony for MDMR’s Marine Patrol officers, along with Executive Director Jamie Miller and Chief Keith Davis.


Both events will take place at First Baptist Church, Gulfport, 12190 MS Hwy 605 in Gulfport. The 1 p.m. signing will be in Room 216, and the Marine Patrol ceremony will be in the Worship Center.
