MDMR certifies two state records

BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources certified two state fishing records this month.

 

Rodie Armes, 11, of Pass Christian set the youth record for Cownose Ray (Rhinoptera bonasus) using conventional tackle with a fish weighing 22 pounds, 11.04 ounces.

 

Joseph Triplett of Biloxi set a new all tackle record using a spear for Red Lionfish (Pterois volitans) was with a fish weighing 2 pounds, 12.98 ounces.
