BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources certified two state fishing records for the month of March.
Cooper Seibert, 11, of Ocean Springs set the youth fishing record using conventional tackle for Gulf Smoothhound (Mustelus sinusmexicanus) with a fish weighing 23 pounds, 15.99 ounces.
Joshua Taylor of Gautier set the all tackle record for Blueline Tilefish (Caulolatilus microps) with a fish weighing 12 pounds, 5.6 ounces.
