Recreational, commercial harvests opening

BILOXI, Miss. – Officials with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources announced today that the recreational fishing season for Greater Amberjack (Seriola dumerili) will open in Mississippi territorial waters on Aug. 1, 2020, at 12:01 a.m.

 

Commercial fishing harvest for Gray Triggerfish (Balistes capriscus) will open in Mississippi territorial waters on Aug. 1, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. local time and commercial fishing season for King Mackerel (Scomberomorus cavalla) opened in Mississippi territorial waters July 1, 2020 at 12:01 a.m.

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
