CMR approves state record for Almaco Jack

BILOXI, Miss. – The Commission on Marine Resources on Tuesday approved a new conventional tackle state record for Almaco Jack (Seriola rivoliana).

 

Lonnie Carroll of Ocean Springs set the record with a fish that weighed 35 pounds, 2.4 ounces.

 

The previous record was 32 pounds, 10.56 ounces, and was set in 2006.
