BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources certified a new state fishing record. Joey Besancon Sr. of Gautier set a new state record for Striped Mullet (Mugil cephalus) using a gig with a fish weighing 5 pounds, 6.95 ounces.
