Mississippi Oyster Reef Area Closed

BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources closed Area II “A” Conditionally Approved Waters to the harvest of oysters, effective 4 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, due to the Pearl River exceeding the water quality management plan criteria for this
area.

 

• Area II “A” Conditionally Approved Waters (closing) – This area includes northern portions of the Pass Christian and Henderson Point reefs and Hornets Reef. This area may reopen for harvest when water sample results meet the management plan criteria for reopening.
