Recreational, commercial harvests set to open, close

BILOXI, Miss. – Officials with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources announced Friday the openings and closings of recreational and commercial harvest for Gag, Greater Amberjack and Gray Triggerfish. 

 

The recreational harvest for Gag (Mycteroperca mecrolepis) will open in Mississippi territorial waters on Monday, June 1, 2020, at 12:01 a.m. local time.

 

The recreational harvest for Greater Amberjack (Seriola dumerili) will close on June 1, 2020 at 12:01 a.m.

 

The commercial harvest for Greater Amberjack (Seriola dumerili) will open on June 1, 2020, at 12:01 a.m.

 

The commercial harvest for Gray Triggerfish (Balistes capriscus) will close as scheduled in Mississippi territorial waters from June 1 until July 31, 2020.

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
